This narrow “hidden” trail is less than an hour long and pretty once you found the trail head, which is on the left to the parking lot at the end of Buttes Pass (the sign is tiny and facing the other side of the street).
There’s a couple entrance you can take. The easiest route is right down at the “no dog allowed’ sign, it’s narrow steep descending track that drops right off the rim of the ravine.
It quite surprised me to see these cute little yellow daisies (I think) in the narrow tunnel to the slot.
The other two entrances on the left where it looks like rock slide area, so scouting carefully before taking the first step. The amazing formation runs as a passage beneath a gravity-defying rock span. The further you go, the rock gets closer and closer, to almost touch at one point.
Along the passage, big boulders lazily laid on top the narrow ravine, made it into a nice little spot for awesome pictures.
The side of this ravine was formed through mud slide after raining, and also the amazing shifting of rocks throughout the years.
This hiking trip is well accomplished even though it is 3 hour drive from Los Angeles area. You should try at least once, to be blend in with mother earth to able to appreciate the land we lived on.
