New York City might be known to be the busiest city in the United States of America but to me, it brought back the horrified September 11th terrorist attacks. Walking through Ground Zero gives me chill feeling of how and what we can build back up once if fell down. One World Trade Center is standing high on the same ground that the Original Twin Towers were is the proof of true American spirit.

One World Trade Center, also known as Freedom Tower, refers to the main building of the new World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. Designed by David Childs, whose firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) also designed the Burj Khalifa and the Willis Tower. The construction began on April 27, 2006. And on May 10, 2013 the final component of the skyscraper’s spire was installed, making the building the tallest structure in New York City a total height of 1,776 feet (541 m). It is also the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere, and the fifth-tallest in the world. The 104-story supertall structure shares a numeric name with the North Tower of the original World Trade Center, which was destroyed in theterrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Another living proof of American Attitude here is the callery pear tree known as “Survivor Tree” after enduring the September 11, 2001 terror attacks at the World Trade Center. In October 2001, the tree was discovered at Ground Zero severely damaged, with snapped roots and burned and broken branches. The tree was removed from the rubble and placed in the care of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. After its recovery and rehabilitation, the tree was returned to the Memorial in 2010. New, smooth limbs extended from the gnarled stumps, creating a visible demarcation between the tree’s past and present. Today, the tree stands as a living reminder of resilience, survival and rebirth.
Reflecting Absence, designed by Michael Arad and Peter Walker, was chosen as the winning design on January 6, 2004. It consists of a field of trees interrupted by two large, recessed pools, the footprints of the Twin Towers. The park consists of informal clusters, clearings and groves of deciduous trees (swamp white oaks) at street level, above the Memorial Museum. The names of 2,513 civilians, 72 law enforcement officers, 343 firefighters, and 55 military personnel from the Pentagon, American Airlines Flight 77, United Airlines Flight 93, and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing are inscribed on the parapets surrounding the waterfalls in an arrangement of “meaningful adjacencies”
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, colloquially “the Met”, located in New York City, is the largest art museum in the United States and among the most visited art museums in the world. The main building, located on the eastern edge of Central Park along Manhattan’s Museum Mile, is by area one of the world’s largest art galleries. art from classical antiquityand Ancient Egypt, paintings and sculptures from nearly all the Europeanmasters, and an extensive collection ofAmerican and modern art. The Met also maintains extensive holdings of African,Asian, Oceanic, Byzantine, and Islamicart. Admission is pay what you wish with a recommendation of $25.
Nestled inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, alongside Chinese Buddhist sculptures from the seventh to 18th centuries, sits a stunning haute couture gold lamé gown by designer Guo Pei. The resplendent strapless gown barely calls to mind the compassion and spiritual wisdom anchoring Buddhist enlightenment, but clearly portrays the complicated political and cultural position the museum’s Costume Institute has put itself in ahead of one of New York City’s premiere fashion events: the Met Gala, the annual high-fashion event that funds the institute in its entirety.
The Temple of Dendur (Dendoor in nineteenth century sources) is an Egyptian temple that was built by the Roman governor of Egypt, Petronius, around 15 BC and dedicated to Isis, Osiris, as well as two deified sons of a local Nubian chieftain, Pediese (“he whom Isis has given”) and Pihor (“he who belongs to Horus”). In order to save significant sites from being submerged by Lake Nasser following construction of the Aswan High Dam, the Temple of Dendur was relocated. Egypt presented the temple and its gate as a gift to the United States of America, represented by Jacqueline Kennedy among others, in 1965 in recognition of the American assistance in saving various other monuments threatened by the dam’s construction. The temple was commissioned by Emperor Augustus of Rome and has been exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York since 1978.
Visiting NYU
Then walking through Washington Square Park, I am thrilled to catch a shot another Empire State Building framed by The Arch.
When you are around the Washington Square Park area, you should try this amazing Indonesian espresso with avocado El Aspukat at Kopi Kopi on 3rd Street. The coffee blended with the fresh creamy taste of avocado and chocolate syrup on top is something so unique, you can only get here in NYC.
Grand Central Terminal: on the set of one of my favorite comedy Friends with Benefits.
Rockefeller Center is a complex of 19commercial buildings covering 22 acres (89,000 m2) between 48th and 51st streets in New York City, United States. Commissioned by the Rockefeller family, it is located in the center of Midtown Manhattan, spanning the area betweenFifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987
Standing prominently in front of 30 Rockefeller Plaza is Paul Manship’s highly recognizable bronze gilded statue of the Greek legend of the Titan Prometheus recumbent, bringing fire to mankind. The model for Prometheus was Leonardo (Leon) Nole, and the inscription, a paraphrase from Aeschylus, on the granite wall behind, reads: “Prometheus, teacher in every art, brought the fire that hath proved to mortals a means to mighty ends.”
The ride to the Top of the Rock feels spectacular. I truly understand “City that never sleeps” coming from through as I’m mesmerised by New York skyline from the GE building rooftop.
The day has come to an end but exploration mind is kept on rising.
