Day 5 Dumbo _ Brooklyn 09/02/15

Being in NYC, you got to try New York Bagels. I personally recommended smoked Salmon on Poppy Seed Bagels at Murray’s Bagels. Freshly delicious smoked salmon on smooth sour cream is to die forimage

Everyone laughed at me when I told them I rented a car to drive around in New York. Well well well, that’s one of the most exciting memory I will never forget in this trip. I get to check out Dumbo, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, the only spot where you can capture a glimpse look of Empire State Building framed by the Manhattan Bridge( from Washington street).

It is very hard to see under daylight but night time will open your eyes to a whole new world. It takes us 15 minutes to find this local spot due to all the one way streets in this area.

New York is known for its Time Square, Empire State building, Rockefeller tower or the Fifth Avenue. There are still a lot of spots that are a little shy on the must-see list. Discover the first built dam in the USA on a white Horse (minus prince charming) definitely makes in my recommended list for New York.

The New Croton Dam (also known asCornell Dam), part of the New York City water supply system, stretches across the Croton River, about 22 miles (35 km) north of New York City. Construction was from 1892 till 1906. Designed by Alphonse Fteley (1837–1903), thismasonry dam is 266 feet (81 m) broad at its base and 297 feet (91 m) high from base to crest. Its foundation extends 130 feet (40 m) below the bed of the river, and the dam contains 850,000 cubic yards (650,000 m3) of masonry. The engineers’ tablet mounted on the headhouse nearest the spillway lists the spillway length as 1,000 feet (300 m) and the total length of the dam and spillway combined as 2,188 feet (667 m). At the time of its completion, it was the tallest dam in the world. New Croton Dam impounds up to 19 billion US gallons (72,000,000 m3) of water, a small fraction of the New York City water system’s total storage capacity of 580 billion US gallons

Croton Gorge Park offers views of the dam from directly downstream. The Old Croton Trail, a popular hiking and biking path that roughly follows the route of the Old Croton Aqueduct, has an endpoint near the base of the dam.Teatown Lake Reservation, a nature preserve, lies nearby as does Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson

Don Huevo at La Bodega Negra sweet up our glam night out. Everyone should try this once in their life if you are a fan of chocolate 👌👌👌
